Evermore was a good start to what I feel is going to be a fun supernatural romance series. I felt that the abilities of the main character were a rather unique take on holistic practices and supernatural abilities as far as any books I’ve read go!
The character’s voice was interesting and compelling. I found myself somewhat frustrated by the lack of concrete answers about what was truly going on until nearly the very end of the book – but the flip side of that coin is that it kept me reading, desperate for some confirmation or denial of what seemed so obvious all along.
I will also say that much of the romance (or more specifically, descriptions of the main love interest) did come off a bit cheesy to me. But that may be more of a genre thing than a real critique, as I am not generally a huge romance reader. I still felt that overall, this book was well done, and I got just enough of a glimpse of the world Ever has been plunged into that it left me eager for more! – Anne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I admit that I haven’t read a lot of romance novels, but I felt like I was able to guess pretty easily where the events in this one were leading…
That said, there was still enough mystery and suspense to keep me interested! I felt like I spent most of the book not exactly clear what was really going on. Certain clues definitely threw me completely off, so I was pleasantly surprised at the twists and turns this book took.
Evermore blends the supernatural and the mundane rather nicely. I enjoyed most of the characters. There were some aspects that came across as cheesy to me (the only reason I can see for reminding the readers over and over and over how gorgeous and smoldering the main love interest is throughout the book would be purely for fan service), but overall I enjoyed diving into the world of Ever and Damen.
By the end, I really wanted to know more about everything in this series. – Jake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
